People have been asking how Cornville got its name for about as long as the town has existed. Now there is an answer — maybe.
It took over two years, a trip to Washington, D.C., and a 44-page document to tell the story, but Judith Miller, a Cornville Historical Society board member, published the most definitive account to date of how Cornville got its name.
Miller’s research is found in her “History of the Cornville Post Office,” recently published by the Cornville Historical Society.
It also contains a detailed account of the history of Cornville’s post offices and postmasters through the years.
