A man and woman were found dead with gunshot wounds in a Rimrock home on Jan. 30. Officials believe this was the result of an apparent murder-suicide, according to Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.YCSO deputies were called to conduct a welfare check at the 4100 block of Passage Lane after the caller noticed the doors at the home had been open since the day before, according to YCSO. When officials arrived they found deceased 54-year-old Joseph Noble II and his wife, 47-year-old Cynthia Noble. A firearm was also recovered at the scene.
Autopsy results have confirmed Joseph shot his wife, possibly while she was asleep, and shot himself in the bedroom, said YCSO spokesperson Dwight D’Evelyn in a media release.
“There was no sign of a struggle in the home and ballistic evidence indicates a single suspect, Joseph, as the only shooter,” he said.
Detectives believe the incident took place sometime after 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, according to YCSO. They are still trying to narrow down the time of the occurrence.
Detectives found prior domestic violence issues between the couple and Joseph had received counseling for mental health in the past, according to YCSO.
