Sometimes, it takes 18 years to get something that seems simple completed.

Take, for instance, the Tissaw Trailhead, which officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, June 27. The community of Cornville has long petitioned for a trailhead on Tissaw Road, where an informal parking lot has existed for years.

Erase the Stigma, Steps to Recovery Homes’ second annual mental health and addiction awareness event, took place at the Cottonwood Recreation Center Saturday, June 24, attracting people from across the region.

The event, which was free and open to the public, featured 28 resource booths from advocacy, charity and health care-related organizations. Food, drinks and day passes to the rec center were handed out to attendees for free.

In addition, a variety of organizations will be on hand at informational booths to answer questions about the related services they offer.
