The Camp Verde Unified School District is closer to potentially implementing a four-day school week.Kitty McDowell’s fifth-grade class at Camp Verde Elementary School works on their keyboarding skills in the computer lab on Thursday, Jan. 16. While kids traditionally look forward to Friday being the last day of the school week, in Camp Verde that day may become Thursday, as the Camp Verde Unified School District is contemplating moving to a four-day week.

The governing board listened last week to the potential pros and cons at their monthly meeting.

Parents and staff are largely in favor of the measure, according to a local survey conducted at Camp Verde High School, Principal Bob Weir said.

Weir said that around 12 to 14 families showed up at a forum in December and that the majority of them were supportive of the idea.
