Print New library director gets to work

Kathy Hellman has been at work for a few weeks now, and she’s still organizing her new office, from the bookshelves to her desktops, both wood and digital.

New Camp Verde Community Library Director Kathy Hellman shows a book July 11 she often reads to children’s groups, while describing some of the changes she and the library staff plan to implement in the near future. Hellman took over leadership of the library June 26.As of June 26, Hellman has been serving as Camp Verde’s new library director.

“We’ve got a lot of ideas in the works,” Hellman said.

While not all of them are fleshed out enough to be made public yet, Hellman said there’s been a lot of brainstorming, and she’s excited about what the future holds for the library.

That includes the eventual construction of a new library, something that’s been an issue discussed in the community for years as the need to replace the current aging building grows.
