With just under 36 percent of registered voters filling out their mail-in ballots, Charlie German defeated two-term incumbent Mayor Bob Burnside by 241 votes, 1,086 to 845, or just over 56 percent of votes cast, according to the Yavapai County Elections office. With just under 36 percent of registered voters filling out their mail-in ballots, German defeated two-term incumbent Mayor Bob Burnside by 241 votes, 1,086 to 845, or just over 56 percent of votes cast, according to the Yavapai County Elections office. There were six write-in votes for the two-year term position.

Late last week, German was busy continuing his involvement with the library, helping to prepare the old Rio Verde Plaza as a location where book sales can be held each month.
