Students in the Camp Verde Unified School District will be switching to a four-day school week starting this fall.

The district’s governing board voted unanimously last week to implement the change and see how it works and affects student performance over the next two years.

The idea is to keep Friday open for tutoring, academic programs and credit recovery for students, as well as a few training opportunities for teachers.

For the full story, see the Wednesday, March 5, edition oKids enjoy recess out on the playground at Camp Verde Elementary on Friday, Feb. 28. Starting next year, this will most likely be a thing of the past, as the school board has approved the move to a four-day school week, on a two-year trial basis. After the two years, the change will either be permanently adopted, or the school will go back to holding classes five days a week. Friday will most likely be the day dropped from the school week.f the Camp Verde Journal.
