There was a birthday celebration in Clarkdale last week.Inside Tuzigoot’s museum and gift shop, visitors can view  artifacts and photographs, gaining a glimpse into the monument’s past. Tuzigoot officially became a national monument on July 25, 1939, 75 years ago.

The ruins that sit atop a hill in Clarkdale were part of an ancient apartment complex, today called Tuzigoot.

The city of Cottonwood is putting its reclaimed wastewater to work, in part to help grow vines at the Southwest Wine Center on the campus of Yavapai College in Clarkdale.Roger Biggs, of Cottonwood’s Utilities Department, uses a map to explain the Riverfront Project, which would use a second wastewater treatment facility to avoid the inefficiency of pumping it uphill with lift stations.

The cost is 92 cents for 1,000 gallons of water.
