Gertrude Joan “Trudy” Dykhuis, of Lake Montezuma, died Feb. 24.

An accomplished organist and pianist, she played for several churches in the Verde Valley. She was an active volunteer at the House of Ruth and the Kiwanis Thrift Store.

She is survived by her sons Arthur and Jeffery [Karla]; daughters Cindy and Sandy [James]; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Her burial was at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the House of Ruth.
