Volleyball
The Cowboys [2-15, 2-7] picked up their second win of the season against Mingus Mountain Academy 3-0 on Oct. 12. Most recently they lost at home to Sedona Red Rock High School 3-1 [25-21, 13-25, 11-25, 11-25] on Thursday, Oct. 19. It was the first time that the team has won a set against the Scorpions since at least the 2011 season.

On Tuesday, Oct. 17 the Cowboys lost 3-0 at first-place and No. 6-ranked Glendale Preparatory Academy. The final match of the season, which also marked senior night, was on Tuesday, Oct. 24 against Paradise Honors High School, but results were unavailable at press time.

The team’s three seniors: Libero Hannah Collins, setter Allysa Matthias and outside hitter Jade Oium were honored.

Football
Camp Verde [2-6, 1-3] traveled to No. 4 Gilbert Christian High School for its penultimate game of the season, a nonleague game, losing 53-14 on Friday, Oct. 20.

The Cowboys are fifth in the Central Region, one spot above winless Sedona Red Rock High School [0-8, 0-4].
The last game of the season comes in the form of the Verde Valley rivalry game against the Scorpions in red rock country; last season Camp Verde won 12-8. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27.

Girls Soccer
The team, No. 7 in Conference 2A, finished its season on Thursday, Oct. 19, at No. 3 Chino Valley High School, losing 3-0. On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the Cowboys traveled to Page High School where they came away 2-1 winners.

Senior forward Alden Teeters had both goals. The team graduates just three players, making for what should be another competitive team in 2018.
