YCSO arrests homicide suspect

At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Oct. 10, the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office received a phone call about a physical altercation at the Circle K located at 24 Finnie Flat, Camp Verde. A short time later, Camp Verde Marshal’s Office received a phone call of a shooting.

When deputies arrived on scene they located several witnesses and a deceased male [white male, 31 years of age] inside the store. Information obtained from the investigation is that there was a physical altercation between two females, one associated with the suspect and one associated with the deceased. As the victim walked toward the two females, the suspect shot him. The suspect subsequently left in a silver Hyundai Sonata 4 door sedan, Az.BRH4045 and is still outstanding.
The Camp Verde Marshal’s Office had been working with the Phoenix Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Investigative Detail in an attempt to apprehend Levi Jones. On Oct. 11, at approximately noon, FAID took Levi into custody in San Tan Valley, Pinal County. The Camp Verde Marshal’s Office and the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office have detectives enroute to further this investigation. The Camp Verde Marshal’s Office appreciates the partnerships that made this swift apprehension possible.
The victim in this case was “Kyle” John Warren Silva, 31 years old. John died at the scene. John was a long time resident of Camp Verde. Our condolences go out to the family.
