Library delayed but still moving

Published:

The ground has been cleared and a fence has been put up.

After design cost delays put construction of a new Camp Verde Community Library on hold for several months, the project is finally moving ahead.

Last week, Linda Harkness, a project manager with McDonald Brothers Construction, gave an update on some of the issues that contractors are working with to get the library built.

The new building will be next to the current library off of Black Bridge Road, next to Rezzonico Family Park along the Verde River.

The bid to build the new library was awarded to Woodruff Construction in January for around $4 million, although the town expects the final cost will be lower.

“There are a lot of different people involved in the process,” said Kathy Hellman, Camp Verde library director.
