Morris helps family after leaving Kingman’s issues

Published:

Ranse Morris was taking a moment to relax last week on a sunny Wednesday afternoon beneath the ramada off of Camp Verde’s Hollamon Street.

He was sporting a shirt with the familiar red and white Nuka-Cola logo. It’s a fictional soda from the world of Fallout, a video game series set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

It’s a soft drink that survived in some numbers following the atomic war that decimated America, along with China, the Soviet Union and much of the rest of the world in the fall of 2077.

If you can find some, it’s probably around 200 years old and a little flat.

It’s also probably a little radioactive, but what isn’t? Just make sure to save the bottle cap.

While Morris hasn’t had to survive the transition to a ruined Earth, he has been experiencing a transition all the same.

As far as he’s concerned, it’s been a lot less traumatic.

Morris moved to Camp Verde around six months ago from Kingman.

“I came down here to be closer to my elder grandmother,” Morris said. “She needed some help around the house.”

Morris said he wasn’t initially planning on staying in Camp Verde for long but he’s had some good experiences here compared to where he came from.
