Former supervisor Simmons dies

Yavapai County has announced the death of former District 1 supervisor Rowle Simmons. Simmons served on the Board of Supervisors from 2013 to 2020, making significant contributions to the community. Simmons previously served three terms as mayor of Prescott from 2001 to 2007.

A dedicated public servant, Simmons was also actively involved in numerous local organizations, including Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Prescott Rotary, Central Yavapai Hospital District and the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.

Yavapai County Board of Supervisors District 2 Supervisors and Board Chairman James Gregory stated, “Rowle will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

“On behalf of the Prescott City Council and staff, I would like to offer our sincere condolences to Rowle’s family and friends,” Prescott Mayor Phil Goode stated. “I would also like to extend our gratitude for his service to our community, both with the city of Prescott and Yavapai County.”
