Violations defined loud and clear

Published:

The Camp Verde Town Council approved a revised set of rules governing noise, rules that make what constitutes a violation a bit clearer for the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office and code enforcement officials.

The new measures were approved at the council’s Oct. 15 meeting.

The previous rules that addressed noise violations were a bit vague, said Bruce Girnt, a commander with the marshal’s office.

The new rules replace a few short paragraphs with several pages of more clearly-defined descriptions of what a noise violation is.

Girnt said that the previous rules didn’t provide much guidance and that the updated rules allow enforcement officials more direction.

“An officer would arrive on scene and as with any situation there are two sides of the story,” Girnt said.
