Town pitches its ideas on access points

Published:

The town of Clarkdale recently opened two new Verde River access points, one at the Tuzigoot Bridge and one upstream known as the TAPCO access point.

Now the town is looking at the next step at its Verde River@Clarkdale master plan.

The project is part of the town’s Sustainable Clarkdale initiative, part of which is an effort to develop areas along the part of the Verde River that runs through Clarkdale’s town limits.

The town has asked for community input for what should be put up for the public to use and what people would like to see at the access point.

The town reached out to the public earlier this year, including through a public meeting organized with the help of Gunn Communications, an outside firm hired to work with the town through the process.

The ideas for improved access include parking, boat launches, accessible toilets, ramadas, trails, beach access and RV parking areas.
