McEachern, Noone hope to make title out of Wars

Published:

While younger wrestlers of lighter weights are flooding Weekend Wars with first places and pins of heavier opponents, two Camp Verde High School seniors have quietly emerged.

“The toughest weight class had to be between the 110 through 130 [pound] weight classes,” said Mario Chagolla Sr., CVHS assistant wrestling coach and Weekend Wars director. “Everybody was talking about all the top contenders. Fortunately, Camp Verde’s studs came through … defeating all their challengers.”

Losing only one match in 18 on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Sterrett Wrestling Complex — after combining for 93 wins on 22 pins last season for the Cowboys — 132-pound Alex Noone and 170-pound Jeremy McEachern have held steady all summer.
