Cowboys hoops pushes past summer Wall

Published:

After a 20-loss finish to the regular season, Camp Verde High School basketball coach Dan Wall is all about skill-building and preparation this summer.

After guiding second- through eighth-graders in morning skills camps Monday through Wednesday,
June 2 through 4, next season’s prospective Cowboys basketball players were scheduled to conclude three days of skills training of their own June 4 in the CVHS gym.

“To be honest, a lot of the stuff we’re working on is stuff Dwyane Wade and Lebron [James, both of the Miami Heat] are still working on in individual sessions,” Wall said. “If guys like that are still working on that, there will be still tons of those really small details for those guys to work on until mastery.”

Wall expects as many as 14 CVHS players and more than 35 younger Cowboys-in-training to attend the camps, which will run three days for Wall’s players and four days for the younger players.
