Fake accident leaves impression

Published:

Local news covered a tragic story last week.
Following a celebration after a dance, an SUV collided with a sedan on Mingus Avenue. Both vehicles were filled with students.

One boy died on the scene, his body lying on the road, covered with a sheet. A girl was airlifted to a hospital where she later died of her injuries.

Another girl, the driver of one of the vehicles, was arrested and possibly facing several years in jail.

Cottonwood Police Chief Jody Fanning said there was reason to believe alcohol had been a contributing factor to the crash.

Fortunately, the accident wasn’t real.
