Yavapai College held a public forum at its Verde Valley Campus in Clarkdale on Nov. 6 to discuss the state of the school’s annual budget.
The thing is, though, nobody showed up.
“That’s probably a good thing,” said Clint Ewell, Yavapai College’s vice president of finance and administrative services. “It means that people must not be too concerned about our budget.”
They shouldn’t be concerned, either, Ewell said.
“Our budget is in pretty good shape,” Ewell said.
The college adopted its current budget for Fiscal Year 2012-2012 in June.
Ewell said he wanted the public to know if someone is ever interested in what the college is doing with its dollars, it’s all available online.
“The budget focus is on accomplishing the [Governing Board’s] ends while remaining in compliance with the state’s Expenditure Limitation law,” Yavapai College President Penelope Wills wrote in a budget analysis. “Strategic planning will play a critical role in the allocation of resources. We will continue to be good fiscal stewards on behalf of the citizens of Yavapai County.”
