Richard F. Schmidt, 86, of Sedona, died Dec. 27.
He was employed by Moore Builders, building custom homes. He also worked for M&M Properties, building and remodeling commercial and private properties.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Schmidt.
He is survived by his stepson Terry Dickey; son Jerry [Doreen] Schmidt of Spur, Texas, and daughter Rebecca [Mason] Lienhart of Camp Verde; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Services were held at Middle Verde Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Compassus Hospice Sedona or Meals on Wheels Sedona.
