Camp Verde new bed tax rates to start in December

Overnight visitors to the Town of Camp Verde will likely see their bed tax rates increase from 3% to 8% on Tuesday, Dec. 1, according to Finance Director Mike Showers.

While Town Council originally approved the hike on the Transient Lodging Transaction Privilege Tax, during its May 27 meeting the approved ordinance was not forwarded to the state government within 10 days, requiring the Camp Verde Town Council to vote to recertify the new rate — which council unanimously did during its Oct. 7 meeting.

The new tax structure for short-term lodging in Camp Verde will be: 8% bed tax, state of Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax 5.5%, Town General Transaction Privilege Tax 3.65%, Yavapai County Tax: 0.85%

“The proposed 5% increase in the Transient Lodging Tax is projected to increase the Town’s Accommodation Tax revenue category by approximately $390,000 in FY27, resulting in total estimated annual revenues of approximately $910,000,” according to the town.
