SWAT, CVMO arrest theft suspect Diaz

Taylor Diaz, a Verde Valley resident, was arrested by the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office with assistance from the Verde Valley Regional SWAT Team on June 4. Diaz was booked on charges for alleged burglary, alleged theft, alleged trafficking in stolen property, alleged weapons misconduct, alleged criminal damage, allegedly resisting arrest and alleged marijuana related offenses.

“During the investigation, deputies determined that three motorcycles had been stolen,” CVMO stated. “Through investigative efforts, all three motorcycles were successfully recovered, with one of the stolen motorcycles located at a residence in Camp Verde. Additional property connected to the investigation was also recovered.”

Diaz allegedly fled from CVMO deputies on two separate prior occasions in the course of its investigation.

“During one of those incidents, Diaz fled on foot from a vehicle. Investigators subsequently recovered seven firearms from the vehicle,” CVMO wrote. “Diaz is a prohibited possessor and is prohibited from possessing firearms under Arizona law.”

“On June 4, Diaz barricaded himself inside a residence in the White Hills Trailer Park in Camp Verde,” CVMO wrote. “After efforts to safely resolve the situation, members of the Verde Valley Regional SWAT Team assisted in taking Diaz into custody without further incident.”

CVMO said the investigation is ongoing.
