On Wednesday, Dec. 3, poet Christopher Cipollini joins forces with local alternative band Matteo Amaretto for “A Night of Words & Music,” in Studio B at the Old Town Center for the Arts.

Tickets are available for $12 at the door and are limited to 50 seats, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Prospective attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The event, scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., promises a compelling fusion of Cipollini’s “defiant and incantatory” poetry with an original live soundtrack provided by Matteo Amaretto. This collaboration is designed to create an immersive experience, beckoning attendees on a “pilgrimage to uncharted territories within themselves.”

Cipollini, a poet and performer who has shared his work internationally, is known for vignettes drawing inspiration from diverse origins, including classic tales, historical figures, silent film stars and contemporary commentary. Much of the work presented will be featured in his forthcoming book, “Pantheon: A Cathedral of the Mind,” which will be available for purchase at the event. Cipollini’s previous collections include “The Musings” in 2012, “A Secret Kingdom” in 2015, and “Trifecta: Stories, Sojourns, Words of Life” in 2017. He is also the co-creator of the local Pendemonium Poetry event at the Queen B Vinyl Café.

Providing the musical backdrop is Matteo Amaretto, a Cottonwood-based alternative rock and synthpop trio featuring Matti Amato on keys and vocals, Paulie Amato on guitar and vocals and Aidan “Jonesy” Jones on bass.

Known for their fluid musical style drawing on post-rock, new wave and dreampop influences, the band has accrued a local following within the Verde Valley music scene and aims to deliver messages of hope, love and self-acceptance through their music.
