City of Cottonwood crews are making progress and have completed the majority of Phase 1 of the Main Street Improvements Project.
Phase 1 included storm drain improvements along Main Street between Cactus Street and Yavapai Street and concrete improvements as needed throughout all phases. A small portion of the concrete work remains, which will be completed during Phase 3.
With this work complete, crews began working on Phase 2 of the Main Street Improvements Project on the night of Sunday, July 13. Phase 2 includes removing and replacing the asphalt pavement along Main Street, from the city limits to Cactus Street, as shown in the map above.
Work began Sunday, July 13 and continued with crews working 24-hour shifts to expedite completion. One lane of traffic will remain open along Main Street, with 24/7 flagging and pilot car operations.
Drivers can expect delays and should use alternate routes if possible. The intersections of Groseta Ranch Road/Main Street, Cactus Street/Main Street and On the Greens Boulevard/Main Street will be closed to all traffic while work is completed on this phase. Also, this work is highly weather dependent and subject to change.
