On July 11, at approximately 3:29 p.m., officers from the Flagstaff Police Department responded to a report of a weapons violation involving a firearm discharge in downtown Flagstaff.
FPD officers quickly arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspected shooter, 28-year-old Kavan Thomas King, of Camp Verde, who discharged a single round from a small-caliber handgun, according to FPD Deputy Chief for Criminal Investigations Charles Hernandez II.
The FPD Criminal Investigations Division responded to assist with processing the scene and conducting multiple interviews. No injuries were reported, and all involved parties have been identified and contacted.
The incident appears to have stemmed from a road rage altercation between drivers of two vehicles. Both drivers were arrested and booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility:
King was booked on one count of disorderly conduct with a weapon and three counts of endangerment. Gian Ginero Rosano, 37, of Flagstaff, was booked on one count of reckless driving.
The Flagstaff Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the department at (928) 774-1414
