Grace DeSpirito, 84, of Cottonwood, died Aug. 23.
Following an unexpected retirement — if you knew Grace, you will know the banana peel story — she spent much of her time volunteering at local Sedona organizations, including the Sedona Humane Society, Paws West Thrift Shop and the Sedona Community Center.
She is survived by her son, Anthony, and two grandchildren, Holly and Nicholas.
A celebration of life will be held in October.
