Candidate: Thomas “T.C.” Noble, Camp Verde resident of 12 years

Current or past profession: “Currently I am retired. I was the safety manager for Lockheed Missiles and Space Company and then as the risk manager for the company.”
Q: Why are you qualified to serve on council?
A: “Here in Camp Verde, I served as the Area 4 leader prior to the 2020 election. I have served as an officer for the Camp Verde Veterans of Foreign Wars Post for 10 years. I have participated in most of the Camp Verde festivals. Prior to Camp Verde I was the president of the Northern California System Safety Group. I served for four years as the chairman for the G48 Committee. I served for 26 years in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Navy reserves. I have developed many management and interpersonal relationship skills over the years that should serve me well on the council. I served the Boy Scouts for 20 years as a scoutmaster and as a committee chair. I was born and raised in Arizona in a small rural town, so I understand the lifestyle of the West.”
Q: How would you help advise the completion of the Camp Verde Sports Complex?
A: “The planned Sports Complex is nearly complete. The final aspect left is the construction of the bathrooms and the concession stand. Planning is already underway to accomplish these. However, like many venues of this kind, it will continue to evolve over time to meet the needs of the community. We must provide guidance for that evolution.”
Q: How do you plan to balance growth while maintaining Camp Verde’s rural and Western lifestyle?
A: “This is going to be an ongoing issue, as new people move into the area will have issues which are not met by our existing systems, where possible and reasonable. We should encourage small business growth. We must ensure that we do not simply change the rules that we have in place that reflect our rural Western environment. Make sure that new folks get a copy of the Town of Camp Verde Code of the West.”
Q: What is your vision for economic development in Camp Verde?
A: “As we grow the major issue will be jobs. Especially for the younger adults in our community. There are many operations that fit our rural and Western environment that could thrive along State Route 260. There are many areas along 260 that would be optimum for small business.”
Q: What kind of direction would you give to the incoming town manager?
A: “First, recognize that we are a rural agricultural community, and most people here want it that way. Second, listen to the community, not just those around you. Get input from the community. Get out of your office and meet with the residents. See what their issues are and what they think needs to be done.”
