Robert L. Burkhalter, 82, of Cottonwood, died Oct. 26.
He worked as an independent painter in Wisconsin and Arizona. He enjoyed hunting, boating, snowmobiling and four-wheeling and was an avid race car driver in his younger years.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, sons Rocky and Rob Burkhalter and three grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Donald [Lisa] Burkhalter; stepdaughter, Lisa [David] Krueger; three siblings; a sister-in-law; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and worked in corporate communications in insurance and health care for several years, handling marketing and public relations duties. A fur-mom to two cats and three dogs, she is semi-retired.
