The Arizona State Board of Education released its 2022-23 school letter grades on Friday, Oct. 27. The grades are a form of accountability model that attempts to measure school performance, student academic growth in language, math and science, academic growth of English language learners, high school graduation rates and indicators that students are ready for employment.

Among those rated, 487 K-8 schools received an A grade, 507 received a B, 302 received a C, 69 received a D and four received an F. Among schools offering grades nine to 12, 68 received an A, 104 a B, 49 a C, 6 a D and 2 an F. Schools have until Nov. 15 to appeal these grades, which may be subject to change after Dec. 4.
