Take a dip in the Cottonwood pool and watch the ‘DC League of Super Pets’ save the world

For residents looking for a unique movie-going experience, the Cottonwood Aquatic Center at 150 S. Sixth St. offers the opportunity to go for a swim and watch a film at the same time.

The “Dive-In” movie will take place Saturday, Aug. 5, with the “DC League of Super Pets” on the big screen at the outdoor pool. The gates to the pool will open at 7:45 p.m., and the movie will start at 8:30 p.m.

The free event is presented by the city of Cottonwood. Pizza and concessions at the pool will be available.

In Warner Bros. Pictures’ animated action adventure feature film“DC League of Super-Pets,” Krypto the Super-Dog [Dwayne Johnson] and Kal-El/Clark Kent aka Superman [John Krasinski] are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime in Metropolis side by side.

Superman, Bruce Wayne/Batman [Keanu Reeves] and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped by Lulu [Kate McKinnon], a hairless guinea pig, and her guinea pig sidekicks Keith [Thomas Middleditch] and Mark [Ben Schwartz].

Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack — Ace/Bat Hound [Kevin Hart], PB the potbellied pig [Vanessa Bayer], Merton McSnurtle/Terrific Whatzit the turtle [Natasha Lyonne] and Chip the red squirrel [Diego Luna] — to master their own newfound powers they gain from orange kryptonite meteorite Lex Luthor [Marc Maron] tried to steal and help Krypto rescue the superheroes.

Jared Stern makes his animated feature film directorial debut, directing from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator John Whittington, based on characters from DC, Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
