Richard Wallace Townsend, 73, of Cottonwood, died June 7.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he moved to Arizona in 1974 and was an arborist who owned Richard’s Landscape Construction in Cottonwood with his sons for more than 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard Wallace Townsend Jr. and dog Jesse.
He is survived by his sister Lorraine [Robert] Glaeser; children Jeffrey, Jennifer, Matthew [Dalis] and Lee [Angelica]; and 10 grandchildren.
Private services are being held.
