Russell L. Bottjer, 74, of Cornville, died Feb. 6 in Phoenix.

He was a well-known member of the Cornville community for 16 years. He and his wife devoted extensive volunteer hours to Kids Against Hunger and Manzanita Outreach. He was a U.S. Marine Corps and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol; sons Mitch, Mark and Sean; granddaughter Carly; niece Terri; and nephew Scott.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date this summer.
