James “Grizz” Burk, 69, of Cottonwood, died Jan. 8.

A U.S. Army veteran, he was a bouncer, drove for car dealers and drove the Disabled American Veterans van.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Burk; sister Rosa Thurber, and brother William Burk.

A memorial motorcycle ride will be held Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. at American Legion Post 25 in Cottonwood. A celebration of life will be held from noon to 3 p.m.

Donations benefit the Verde Valley Humane Society to pay adoption fees for senior citizens.
