William J. LaFleur, 82, of Cottonwood, died Nov. 10.

He served in the U.S. Navy, and as a Merchant Marine Chief Engineer for USGS and the University of Hawaii.

He volunteered at Dead Horse Ranch State Park from 2007 through 2020 as a lagoon host and maintenance man.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judi and daughter, Barbara.

He is survived by his sons John and Mike; daughter Bonnie; best friend Pat and cat Peggy Sue.

His ashes will be scattered at sea in accordance with his wishes.
