Harold Lavar Allred, 80, of Cottonwood, died Dec. 12.

Born in Duncan, he moved to Cottonwood in 1968. He held many leadership positions for his church and served on the Mingus Union High School Governing Board for eight years. He loved fishing, hunting and camping.

He is survived by his wife Sylvia, daughters Katherine [Troy] De Smet and daughter Shelley [Dennis] Kitchen; sons Gary ]Linda] Allred and Larry [Heather] Allred; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two soon to arrive; brothers Terry and Dale; and sister Donna.
