Samuel Lee Messick, of Sedona and Cornville, died Oct. 22.

Born Nov. 11, 1930 in Oakland, Calif., he served in the Korean War. He was an administrator for Northern Arizona University and lived in the Sedona area for nearly 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Haline Messick.

Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sedona.
