Jerome police searching for missing resident

Published:

The Jerome Police Department is looking for a missing person who they say was behaving unusually before she disappeared.

The Jerome Police Department initiated the missing person search on Caroline Denise Guth after an unusual interaction with her on the evening of June 13, during which she displayed behavior that was not typical of her, according to the Jerome Police Department. While unusual, it was not sufficient to do anything more than offer her a ride home, which she refused. She had been seen earlier in another resident’s yard on Hampshire Avenue watering their plants without permission. She was last seen walking toward the old high school.

Police did pick up a dog that was later identified as her dog and it is currently boarded by the Jerome Humane Society.

During a welfare check the morning of June 14, police found her only personal vehicle with partially unloaded groceries with the keys to her vehicle on the bumper. She was not located anywhere in the residence. There were numerous unopened and recently delivered packages outside her home.

Since that welfare check, the Jerome Police Department has contacted friends/acquaintances, placed attempts to locate with local agencies, filed a missing person report with NCIC and ACJIS (national and state records systems), contacted radio stations and newspapers, issued a silver alert through Arizona DPS, attempted to ping her cell phone, which is disconnected, conducted several ground searches in the area, conducted a helicopter search of the area, searched her residence and associated building, and followed up on all leads that have come in, all with no additional information on her location.

There is a possibility that she got a ride with somebody and is avoiding detection as there was some indication she wanted to be left alone.

Anyone with information regarding Guth’s whereabouts are asked to call Jerome PD at 928-634-8992. If it is urgent, call 928-634-2245.
