Verde Valley Fire District crews responded to a report of a house on fire on Palisades Drive in Clarkdale Sunday night.
The incident occurred at 8 p.m. Crews arrived to find a single-story home with flames showing in the front room and the house fully charged with smoke, according to the Verde Valley Fire District.
Crews were able to make entry into the home and quickly extinguish the fire before it spread to the rest of the home. The residents and a couple on vacation renting an Airbnb room in the house were not at home when the fire started. The fire caused significant smoke and heat damage displacing the residents. ACT and Red Cross assisted in accommodations for the residents.
This fire is currently under investigation. Cottonwood Fire and Medical, ACT and Clarkdale Police assisted in the incident.
