Vernon H. Barber, 84, died Dec. 11.

Born in Phoenix, he was a barber for 14 years with his dad at A1 Barbers barber shop in Tempe. Later he retired from SRP, having worked 23 years in the Transportation Department. He was an active member of Verde Community Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dollena [Dolly]; sons Michael and Mark; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial was at Green Acres cemetery in Scottsdale.
