On Monday, February 24th, shortly after 11 a.m. 36-year-old Cottonwood resident Noel Jerome Sepulveda was arrested in the 900 block of South Main Street for several felony charges including a felony warrant out of Maricopa County Superior Court.
Earlier in the day officers took a report from Sepulveda’s ex-girlfriend that she was walking in the 1000 block of E. Mingus Avenue when Sepulveda pulled up alongside of her and tried to force her into his vehicle. In the struggle, her head and the fingers of one of her hands were slammed against the door frame. Sepulveda couldn’t get her into his vehicle but he did take her purse and then drove off.
When officers located Sepulveda in his blue 2013 Audi passenger car, he immediately turned into a business parking lot in the 900 block of S. Main Street. Officers made contact with him and detained him due to the felony warrant.
K9 Kratos was utilized and alerted to the vehicle, indicating there may be drugs inside of it. A search of the vehicle yielded a rock-size amount of methamphetamine weighing approximately 8.241 grams. Based on the officer’s training and experience, it was consistent with the sale of methamphetamine.
The victim’s purse and contents were also located on the front passenger seat of his vehicle.
Sepulveda was arrested and booked on kidnapping, robbery, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia – all felonies – and misdemeanor assault. He was also booked for the felony warrant out of Maricopa County. The original charges on the warrant were for fraudulent schemes and artifices and theft.
