Vickie Lee Garcia, 66, of Cottonwood, died Oct. 5.

Born in Anchorage, Alaska, she served as the first female automotive mechanic in the history of the United States Air Force.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony, children Alan [Esther] Hahn and Lisa [John] Hoover, stepchildren Stefan [Christine] Garcia and Karen [Nathaniel] Doctor, brother Terry [Karen] Burkeybyle, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews.

Respecting her wishes, there will be no formal services.
