Multiple fire agencies extinguish fire on Hopi Drive in Camp Verde

Published:

On Tuesday July 23, at 1:53 p.m., emergency crews from Copper Canyon Fire and Medical Authority’s Stations 81 and 82 along with Verde Valley Fire District, Sedona Fire District and Cottonwood Fire Departments were dispatched to a residential fire at 540 S. Hopi Drive in Camp Verde.

Emergency crews arrived on scene to find a small residence with heavy smoke coming from the roof vents on the structure.

All occupants were safely evacuated from the home prior to emergency crews arrival. The home quickly became involved in heavy fire. Crews quickly assessed the scene and extended hose lines to the rear of the structure to protect exposures at the rear of the home and to make an exterior attack.

Once the fire was quickly knocked down, crews were able to gain access to the interior of the home and extinguish the fire completely.

The fire appears to have started in the kitchen area and quickly spread to the living room and dining room areas, which sustain heavy damage. The fire is still under investigation at this time.

CCFMD would like to thank VVFD, CFD and SFD and Camp Verde Marshal’s Office with their assistance in this incident.
