Gail Elizabeth Ray, of Cornville, died Sept. 26.

She had a lifelong career in California in the computer field, working for the aerospace industry. In 1969, she headed a computer project for the NASA lunar landing project. She retired to Cottonwood in 1997, and later moved to Cornville.
She was an avid reader and loved animals, especially her golden retrievers, Sugar and Honey.

She is survived by her son, Steve Ray of Cornville, and brother Dan Bernero of Bullhead City.

She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and worked in corporate communications in insurance and health care for several years, handling marketing and public relations duties. A fur-mom to two cats and three dogs, she is semi-retired.
