Clarkdale police arrest Cottonwood detective for domestic violence

On Wednesday, Oct. 24, Cottonwood Police Department Officials were notified by the Clarkdale Police Department they had developed probable cause to arrest Cottonwood Police Department Detective Cody Delafuente, according to Cottonwood Police Cmdr. Gareth Braxton-Johnson.

Cottonwood police were told the investigation was in reference to a previous domestic violence incident that was reported in Clarkdale’s jurisdiction, accrording to Braxton-Johnson.

Delafuente was taken into custody and remanded to the Yavapai County Detention Center in Camp Verde for charges related to domestic violence, Braxton-Johnson stated.

Delafuente has since been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal court proceedings, Braxton-Johnson stated.
