Carol Howard, 71 of Clarkdale, died April 9.

She was preceded in death by her grandson Michael Roberts and granddaughter Carleigh Roberts.

She is survived by her husband Ray Howard; daughters Gina [William Neely] Selnes and Holli [Michael] Taff; brothers Don [Carol] Gustafson, Roger [Sharon] Gustafson and Doug [Shellie Lundeby] Gustafson; sister Lori [Paul] Quanrud; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held in Grand Forks, N.D. There will be a burial at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Pine Cemetery in Pine.

She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and worked in corporate communications in insurance and health care for several years, handling marketing and public relations duties. A fur-mom to two cats and three dogs, she is semi-retired.
