Boys Golf
The boys golf team took third overall against Flagstaff High School, Page High School and Mohave Accelerated Learning Academy on a cool, windy day at Flagstaff Ranch Golf Club on Thursday, Sept. 14. The Marauders [+51/195] did not have a single member place in the top five; junior Justin Tanner [+11/47] tied for seventh to lead the way.

Despite the rough outing, Mingus finished just six strokes off of the winner, Mohave Accelerated [+45/189]. Flagstaff was second [+46/190] and Page fourth [+64/208].

Sophomore Noah Daher [+12/48] tied for ninth, seniors Tyre Kim and Ethan Brogden [+14/42] tied for 11th and junior Cameron Machek [+23/59] was 17th.

Girls Golf
The girls golf team competed against Tolleson Union High School, Alhambra High School and La Joya Community High School at Villa De Paz Golf Course. Freshmen Kaylee Watson and Kaila Bowers took second and third overall, respectively. Three other Maraduers took fifth, sixth and seventh.

They traveled to play at the Grand Canyon University course on Monday, Sept. 18, but results were unavailable at press time. They play again at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 at Antelope Hills Golf Course.

Swimming and Diving
The Marauders beat Bradshaw Mountain High School on Thursday, Sept. 14, but scores were not available by press time.

Mingus’ swimmers also competed in their first of four state-qualifying meets at the Wolves Classic Invitational on Sept. 9.

Some top times for the girls: Skylar Mohr, 200 freestyle [2:14.42]; Emma Warner, 200 individual medley [2:32.53] and 100 breaststroke [1:15.88]; Rylie Burke, 50 freestyle [26.33, 18th overall] and 100 freestyle [57.46, 21st overall]; Zoey Arwine, 100 butterfly [1:03.71, 27th overall]; and Emily Grasso, 100 backstroke [1:12.49].

Top boys times: Dallin Gordon, 200 freestyle [2:00.57]; Fletch Fangman, 100 butterfly [57.74, 24th overall] and 100 breaststroke [1:08.21]; and Andrew Peterson, 100 backstroke [1:06.56].
