Spectrum unveils renovated facility

Published:

Spectrum Healthcare Group has officially opened the doors of its renovated facility at 452 Finnie Flat Road.

The upgraded interior, which guests toured during an open house Aug. 4, marks an expansion of Spectrum’s operations in Camp Verde beyond counseling, case management and psychiatry to include primary care and pediatrics. Most services are accessible the same day of a patient’s visit.

Outpatient behavioral health services include: Psychiatry, counseling, mental health assessments, marriage and family therapy and substance abuse counseling.

Primary care services for all ages include: Physicals, wellness exams and sick visits, as well as phlebotomy for routine lab draws.

The full range of these services has been available at Spectrum’s Cottonwood location, at 651 West Mingus Ave., since 2014.

“Spectrum confirms for us as patients that our needs are complex, and we certainly understand that whatever we face profoundly impacts how we feel both physically and emotionally,” Camp Verde Mayor Charlie German said in his keynote address at the opening. “There is no distinction or separation of mind from the body or the body from the mind in the care for each patient … I am impressed and pleased with how Spectrum is a fully integrated company who provides a vast array of primary care and behavioral health services to all ages.”

In addition to expanded services, Spectrum now accepts most major insurance plans. Previously, the clinic had only accepted Medicaid payment via the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System. Cash payments will also be accepted for counseling services.

Additionally, Spectrum conducts financial eligibility screening for insurance, sliding fee payments and self-pay options.

“Expanding Spectrum’s whole health care brand to all of its locations in the Verde Valley …. has been a long-held vision,” Spectrum CEO April Rhodes said. “It only made sense to start with the beautiful and close-knit Camp Verde community.”

Spectrum communications, strategy and innovation director Ryan Block described the layout of the renovated facility as “more welcome,” centered around room designs that lack the traditional desk between patients and care providers.

“You can just have a conversation. There’s no barriers,” Block said.

Tracking patient care is now quicker, done via laptops that the patient can see.

“We document everything within 15 minutes of the session.”

With Camp Verde’s renovation and expansion complete, there’s one facility left to go: According to Block, the Sedona clinic, at 2880 Hopi Drive, will be the subject of a similar upgrade to include primary care in the winter.

“On behalf of the Town Council, the citizens of Camp Verde and the residents of Lake Montezuma, Rimrock and Beaver Creek, we would like to again say thank you for your continued and increasing investment in our community and for providing expanded services based upon the individual needs of each of our citizens,” German said in closing.

Spectrum has a fourth facility at 8 E. Cottonwood St. in Cottonwood. Spectrum Camp Verde is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call 634-2236 or visit spectrumhealthcare-group.org.
