An armed robbery at the Chevron Station at 1204 State Route 260 in Cottonwood has resulted in the arrest of three individuals, two of whom were later charged for the robbery.
“At about 10:30 pm on Wednesday, May 24, [the Chevron] was robbed at gunpoint by a male suspect,” Cottonwood Police Department stated via press release, later identifying the man as Paul Wilson, 27, of Flagstaff. Approximately $500 was stolen from the store. There were no injuries to anyone inside the business.
According to CPD, Wilson fled the scene in a black Toyota pickup truck with Daniel Lykins, 32, of Flagstaff, and Lykins’ girlfriend.
Prior to the pursuit of the Lykins’ vehicle, which began in the Village of Oak Creek, Wilson exited the vehicle. A store clerk in the VOC contacted Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office with information as to Wilson’s whereabouts. Wilson was later located by YCSO deputies in the area.
YCSO pursued Lykins’ vehicle northbound. A search for the suspects occurred near Schnebly Hill Rd. and Interstate 17, assisted by the Department of Public Safety.
“The vehicle has been located by YCSO in the area of where the pursuit was terminated,” CPD stated. Lykins and his girlfriend were located nearby.
Wilson has been arrested and charged with robbery. Lykins has been arrested and charged with facilitation of robbery and unlawful flight. Lykins’ girlfriend was arrested but has not been charged in the incident.
Wilson and Lykins were transported to and are being held in the Yavapai County Jail.
