An autopsy has determined that a man found dead inside a burned house Aug. 8 died from suicide.
Donald L. Lorimor, 58, of Camp Verde, “died of a single gun wound to the head before being consumed by fire,” stated Camp Verde Marshal’s Office Chief Administrative Assistant Darby Martin. “The Yavapai County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled Lorimor’s death as a suicide.”
Copper Canyon Fire and Medical Authority Fire Marshal Kristi Gagnon said it was not possible to determine whether the fire occurred before or after Lorimor’s death.
The cause of the fire could not be determined due to the extent of the damage to the home, she added.
